Stump Grinding
At Richardson Tree Surgery, we offer a high performance Stump Grinding service that allows us to completely remove stumps to below ground level. Stump Grinding is often the final stage of permanent tree removal. After trees have been felled, you will have been left with a ground level stump. If this is not an issue for you, it can be left in the ground but may cause problems in the future. These problems include the likes of root diseases, fungi and suckering.
Stump Grinding may also be appealing if you’re completely removing the appearance of the felled tree, meaning the area can be planted, turfed, or paved over.
Our small stump grinder, a Predator, is perfectly designed to access virtually all back gardens, even if it has to go through a house. It can tackle small and medium sized stumps to a depth of 250mm. The access width needed is only 700mm and the machine weighs 150kg. Our large stump grinder, a Bandit, only needs a little more access width of 800mm, but since it is on tracks and weighs 650kg, it is more suited to larger stumps with good access to their location. This 38HP machine can tackle any size stump, grinding to a depth of just over 300mm.
Richardson Tree Surgery has all of the licences, insurance, and technology required to safely operate this machinery, giving you peace of mind that your garden is being cared for in a safe and controlled manner by experts.
Before Stump Grinding, you may be interested in another of our tree removal services, such as Tree Dismantling, where your tree is taken down piece by piece (ideal for restricted spaces) or Tree Removal, where the tree is felled in a more standard method – ideal for larger gardens, parks, or areas without the presence of nearby breakables/structures.
